Call Esther All is an experimental documentary, based on American documentary serials. It deals with the problem ´cholesterol`, the monster that lurks in the fridges.

DAVID EKARB: What do you think about cholesterol?
– Cholesterol?
– I guess it’s pretty good, that the Department of Food and Administration have that type of, you know, that type of chemical to put in food, like … such as butter and … and … candybars.
– Our goverment is putting high ... high amounts of cholesterol in our food.
– yeah ... yeah ... make it taste better, if you don’t put too much ... if you’re not putting too much ... if you put just the right amount
– Okay: Cholesterol.
– Before 1986 there was no thing as cholesterol, and then some haphazard scientist let it out of the lab, and suddenly it became to creep into the homes.
– It’s a fat level in the blood.
– Well ... I use ... I use cholesterol on my hair.

„Bis 1986 gab es das noch nicht, jetzt allerdings kriecht’s in deine Wohnung und lauert überall, um deine Arterien zu verstopfen – ´and blows your fucking heart up` - ein kriechendes, schleimiges Monster, das eigentlich wie Cottage Cheese aussieht, aber so schlecht kann es nicht sein: Man kann es im Haar verwenden ... Call Esther All ist ein experimenteller Dokumentarfilm, angelehnt an amerikanische Dokumentarserien. Er behandelt das Problem Cholesterol, das Monster, das auch in europäischen Kühlschränken lauert.
Sabine Groschup und C. Angelmaier, Österreicherinnen in Chicago, versammeln in der Lebensmittelkomödie Call Esther All ... Randbemerkungen zu einem Wort, das sich auch ´Cholesterol` oder (deutsch) ´Cholesterin` schreiben lässt. Eine Umfrage und die Ergebnisse (und ein Film darüber).“
